ਧਨ ਪਿਰੁ ਏਹਿ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ ਬਹਨਿ ਇਕਠੇ ਹੋਇ ॥ ॥

ਏਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਧਨ ਪਿਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥

They are not said to be husband and wife, who merely sit together.

Anand Karaj services can be booked at the Gurdwara Sahib on most days. We will do our best to accommodate your preferred date and unless there is another Anand Karaj booked for that date, we can usually fit things in as most events at Gurdwara are in the evening. Please consult the calendar below to see the dates and current bookings. The calendar is updated regularly, but please call to confirm before making any final plans.

To book an Anand Karaj please contact the general secretary Sardar Raminder Singh. We will be happy to answer any queries you may have about a booking as we have a lot of experience and want your event to run as smoothly as possible on the day.

We can provide a separate room for the Registry Marriage to take place, which can also accommodate approximately 80 seated friends and relatives. We also have a separate room where the bride can be waiting / get ready / have some refreshments and be accompanied by her friends.

The gurdwara sahib requests you to adhere to the policy of Anand Karaj ceremony taking place before 12 noon, as per gurmat maryada. We would request that you help us to follow the maryada by planning times accordingly. If you are again unsure about how long certain ceremonies may take, please do contact us and we will be happy to offer advice.

The charges for an anand karaj service are as follows:

  • £501 with tea and langar provision
  • + £101 bheta for Ragi Jatha
  • + £51 refundable charge if Gurdwara is left clean and tidy
  • + Optional donation to Building Fund

Please note: The resident ragi jatha will perform the anand karaj ceremony and will need to be paid accordingly on the day. If an outside Ragi Jatha is invited then the £101 will still need to be paid to our Hazoori Ragi Jatha to compensate them.
